What is Arbitration?

Arbitration is a binding process that must be agreed on by the parties before commencing the arbitration. The difference between an arbitration and a mediation is that the arbitrator decides the case, rather than a mediator getting the parties to agree, a process which is non-binding.

The Uniform Family Law Arbitration Act

The Uniform Family Law Arbitration Act (UFLAA) creates a statutory scheme for the arbitration of family law disputes. Once the arbitration act is passed, the Massachusetts family law bar expects family law arbitration to become more commonplace. Stay tuned for further updates.
